Remember when I used to book flights by calling the airline directly?
Now I just compare three tabs on my phone for 20 minutes and still pick the wrong one, how do you all decide which booking site to trust these days?

Oh man, totally feel this. I've actually started going straight to the airline's own site after I find a price on comparison sites, and I've saved like $40 on average because they sometimes have hidden deals or fare classes that don't pop up on Kayak or whatever. It's a pain having like five tabs open, but it beats the weird feeling of booking through a third party and then wondering if you'll even get your refund when things go wrong (which they always do). Plus, you can often pick your exact seat for free on the airline site, which is nice.

max_brown's got the right idea honestly. I read this thing a few months back that said a bunch of those third party sites use fake inventory or bait and switch prices, and it stuck with me. So now I just do the same thing - find the cheapest option on Skyscanner or Google Flights, then go to the airline's actual website and book there. It's a little extra work but I've never had a problem getting my money back or changing a flight that way. Jamie's on point too, Skyscanner is pretty solid for the initial search. Just don't trust any site that asks for your email before showing prices, that's always a trap.
