Spent $400 on a professional duct cleaning and it actually made a difference

I always figured duct cleaning was a scam. My wife kept pushing for it because our allergies were bad every morning. I finally agreed to let a company in Springfield come out and do the whole house for $400. They showed me the before and after video on their camera and there was a solid inch of dust and debris in the main trunk line. Three weeks later I'm not waking up stuffy and the house feels cleaner overall. Has anyone else had good results from this or did I just get lucky with the crew?

I used to roll my eyes whenever people talked about duct cleaning, thought it was just another way to separate you from your money. But after reading this I'm actually rethinking it, especially the part about waking up less stuffy. Might have to look into it for our place now because the morning congestion is getting old.

Oh man, I was exactly like you and totally skeptical, but we finally did it last year and it made a huge difference with my allergies and that morning stuffiness. Just make sure you go with a reputable company though, not the cheapest ones who try to upsell you on everything.

Funny how that works, right? Scam or not, it seems like half the stuff we grew up rolling our eyes at actually has some real benefit once you give it a shot. Feels like everything from electric cars to those weird foam rollers fall into that same category these days.
