Switched from a full-size router to a trim router for cabinet work and I'm not going back.
I always thought the smaller motor would struggle with dados and hinge mortises, but after watching a cabinetmaker use only a trim router with a 1/4-inch bit for everything I tried it on my kitchen reno and got cleaner results in half the time, has anyone else made the switch or am I just lucky so far?

Ngl I made the same switch last year and never looked back. Trim router with a 1/4 bit handles everything I need.

Haven't you hit a point where the trim router just can't keep up? I tried one for a full set of cabinet doors and the motor bogged down bad on the raised panels, took twice as long to clean up the chatter marks. My full-size router still handles heavy stock way better when you're doing production work day in and day out.
