That time a bus driver in Denver refused to let me on with my bike and I still think about it
This was back in March 2022. I had a flat tire on my way to work and the bus was my only option. The driver looked at my bike, shook his head, and said 'no bikes on the rack today, it's full.' But the rack was empty. I pointed it out and he just said 'rules changed, no bikes after 8am.' I looked it up later and that wasn't even true. It was just some power trip thing. I had to ride 6 miles on a flat rim. Anyone else run into a worker who just made up their own rules on the spot?

Oh man, that bus driver was definitely on a power trip (or just having a bad day and taking it out on you). I've seen that happen with city security guards who suddenly "enforce" rules that don't exist, like telling people they can't sit on a public bench because it's "reserved for maintenance." The worst part is you had no way to argue it without missing your bus entirely. And riding 6 miles on a flat rim? That's brutal for the tire and the rim itself. You probably bent it something awful.

Driver was probably following a temporary policy you didn't know about. Denver RTD had those weird peak hour bike restrictions rolling in and out during 2022. Saw it myself a few times. You showed up with a flat expecting special treatment and got mad when they stuck to what they said.

Yeah I had basically the same thing happen with a security guard at Union Station last year, total power trip.
