My best Andromeda shot got ruined by a neighbor's security light

I was out in my backyard in Tucson, finally getting a clear shot after two hours of tracking. Right as I started the final exposure, a new motion light across the fence turned on and flooded my sensor with orange. Has anyone else had luck talking to neighbors about light pollution for astro shots?

It's funny how many modern problems get solved with old-school stuff like baked goods. I've seen it work for noise complaints and even getting someone to move their trash cans. The trick is making it a friendly chat, not a complaint, which is way harder than it sounds.

My buddy in Flagstaff baked his neighbor cookies and they agreed to shield that light after sunset.

What kind of cookies did he make? That's the real key to neighbor diplomacy.
