My neighbor's kid asked me why the stars twinkle
Honestly, I was just showing him a picture I took of Orion from my backyard. He pointed at Betelgeuse and asked why it was blinking. I gave him the simple answer about air moving, but it made me stop. I realized I'd been so focused on getting a sharp shot that I forgot the simple wonder of just looking up. Has anyone else had a simple question make you remember why you got into this hobby?

Actually, that feeling is pretty hard to capture in an article. Words on a page just don't compare to seeing it for yourself. The real thing always hits different, you know?

Seeing it for yourself always hits different" is exactly right. That kid asking that question reminded me that no photo or article can touch that moment when you just look up and let it wash over you. I'm glad you got that reminder too.
