Vent: I finally hit 100 hours on a single deep sky target and my friends think I'm nuts

Spent all spring on the same patch of the Veil Nebula, but the detail is insane compared to my old 2-hour shots. Anyone else ever go way overboard on integration time for one object?

Used to think anything over 20 hours was overkill. Your 100-hour Veil shot would totally change my mind though, that detail is unreal. Guess some targets are just worth the grind.

Remember my buddy who tried a 40-hour run on the Horsehead. Said he almost quit at hour 30, but the final stack made him gasp. Totally rewired his idea of "enough" data.

Man, that hits home! I pushed a 60-hour run on the Orion Nebula last winter and almost bailed at like hour 45. Seeing that final integration pull out faint dust I never knew was there? Absolutely blew my mind. Makes you question every short exposure you've ever taken. What's the longest single project you've stuck with?
