Boss wanted me to skip priming door edges to save 1.5 hours, and the paint flaked in 3 weeks
Last month we had a silver Tacoma come in for a full respray and my boss pushed me to skip priming the door jamb edges to save about 1.5 hours on the job. I did it his way and 3 weeks later the guy came back with paint peeling off every edge like tape. Anybody here ever win this fight with a manager, or do you just eat the come back and let the numbers talk?
This is the oldest trick in the book, skipping primer on edges to save time. I've been down this road, just document the comeback in writing with pics of the flaking and the hours it cost you. Numbers on paper usually shut that talk down faster than any argument.
