Got into it with an insurance adjuster over a $340 blend panel quote yesterday
Last Tuesday I had a 2019 CR-V in the bay with a rear quarter hit, and the adjuster wrote it up for repair only, no blend into the rear door or the roof rail. I told him straight up that panel was never gonna match without blending, and he came back with "the refinish time doesn't support it." So I ate the cost myself and sprayed the blend anyway, because I'd rather lose $340 in materials than have that customer come back in 6 months with a color mismatch and roast me on Google. Now I'm sitting here wondering if I just trained this guy to keep lowballing me. How do you all handle adjusters who won't budge on blend time, do you push back harder or just eat it like I did?
Sounds like you just paid him to keep doing it. Next time get the blend approved in writing before you spray, or make the shop manager call his supervisor. Eating the cost once is fine, but word gets around that you'll fold.
