Hot take: blending clear coats to the edge is lazy, and I said it at the shop meeting
A guy from the shop down the street told me last Tuesday that panel edge blending saves time and nobody notices, but I have seen too many cars come back with a visible halo under parking lot lights. I tape off to the nearest body line and spray the full panel, it adds about 40 minutes but the customer never comes back mad. Anyone else get pushback from their boss for doing it the slow way?

Lazy until that halo shows up under lot lights and then guess who’s the bad guy. Funny how the “nobody notices” crowd never seems to be around for that phone call. Keep taping, king.
