Old timer showed me his trick for fishing out dents without bondo
Guy in Phoenix last year told me to drill a tiny hole and use a slide hammer from inside the panel, then weld it shut. Has anyone else tried this method on thinner sheet metal?

Totally agree with @gray875 on this one - I tried the same trick on a rear quarter panel of a beat-up Civic and that weld spot was a nightmare to hide. Ended up having to use way more filler than I wanted just to get it smooth again.

Buddy of mine tried that on an old Chevy truck door. Worked alright until the weld spot started showing through the paint a few months later. Might be fine on thicker metal like a hood but I'd be careful on door skins.
