Question about a 2015 Honda Civic quarter panel replacement that took forever

Spent almost 12 hours on it because the factory spot welds were way stronger than expected and my drill bits kept going dull. What's your go-to method for drilling out stubborn factory welds without wrecking the back panel?

Honestly I just use a cut-off wheel for that.

A cut-off wheel might be too aggressive for that material.
