YouTube warriors thinking they know auto body from a two-minute video

I mean, had a guy bring in his car with a huge crease and say 'can't you just bang it out?' Like no, there's welding involved. Maybe it's just me but it feels disrespectful.

Seriously, I heard mechanics say the same thing about tire changes after people watch shortcut videos! It totally misses the real skill involved.

Yeah, that two-minute video diploma is really paying off for them.

Watching a short video makes people feel like experts on everything now. I see it with my friends trying to fix plumbing after one TikTok, or my cousin nearly burning the kitchen down following a "five minute gourmet" recipe. It brushes off years of practice and real knowledge, like the video just downloads the skill into your brain. The worst part is they get mad when their quick fix fails, blaming the pro instead of their own rush job. It turns hard work into a joke, and actual experts into just another option instead of the only right one.

Lol that "video downloads the skill into your brain" thing is too real. I watched a 60-second clip on cutting my own bangs and now I look like I lost a fight with a lawnmower. My bathroom sink is still leaking from my "five minute fix" last month. I guess my two-minute diploma from YouTube U isn't quite cutting it.
