Clay bar finally removed the tree sap my polish couldn't touch
Been chasing this sticky mess on my hood since March, tried three different polishes and they all just smeared it around. Picked up a clay bar kit at AutoZone for like $28 on Friday and spent two hours on it in my driveway. That thing pulled off sap I didn't even know was there, the paint feels glass smooth now. My arms are sore but honestly worth it, I thought I was gonna need a respray for sure. Has anyone else had luck with clay on stuff that seems baked into the clear coat?

Wait, $28? I paid like sixty bucks for a kit back in 2021 and it barely lasted through one car.
That clay bar saved you from a whole respray, which would've cost you way more than any sore arms.
Sounds like that stuff really works when polish just pushes the mess around, good to know for next time.
