Hit 500 cars washed this season with zero swirl marks

I crossed 500 washes last Saturday on a black F-150 and not a single scratch or swirl from my method. Has anyone else tracked a number like that and felt weirdly proud of it?

Actually 500 washes is impressive but I gotta point something out about the two bucket method. People think two buckets alone prevents swirls but thats only half the story. The real key is your wash media and how you dry. I see folks with two buckets using a dirty microfiber with grit guard still scratching paint because they drag dirt across the panel. The grit guard just catches stuff at the bottom but if you're not rinsing your mitt properly between passes then you're still grinding particles into the clear coat. For that black F-150 you'd need a really plush microfiber wash mitt and blow drying with a leaf blower or at least patting dry with a waffle weave towel to avoid those micro scratches. So honestly props for the 500 but it's probably more about your whole technique not just the buckets.

And here I am feeling proud of myself for hitting 50 washes without dropping the sponge on the ground, so 500 is basically legendary status to me. Like I’m over here reverse-crowning myself for not tripping over my own bucket yet. Seriously though, props for keeping that black F-150 looking clean with zero swirls, that’s some next level focus.

Just a good wash routine and two buckets did the trick for me.
