Hydrophobic spray vs ceramic coat, my garage floor paid the price
I used to think all spray sealants were basically the same, so for about 6 months I just used a $12 turtle wax spray after every wash on my 2018 Civic. Then my buddy in Phoenix let me try his real ceramic coating, like the actual bottle that needs a proper applicator and 12 hour cure time. The difference in water behavior is crazy, the coated panels shed rain at 35 mph while the spray side still beads up slow and leaves spots. But here is the thing, I rushed the ceramic job in my garage and got some overspray on the concrete, now there is a permanent slick patch that even degreaser won't touch. Has anyone else messed up their workspace trying to get that pro level finish, or is there a way to strip cured ceramic off a floor I haven't tried yet?
