Finally got our warehouse robot to stop dropping boxes after 8 tries
Our new automated palletizer kept mangling cartons for two months straight. I spent every Friday afternoon tweaking the grip settings and suction timing. Turns out the humidity in our Seattle facility was causing the sensor to misread box weight. I added a $40 dehumidifier near the arm and it hasn't dropped a single package since. The manufacturer's manual didn't mention anything about climate conditions. Has anyone else had a robot fail in ways that felt totally random until you found one weird environmental fix?

Had a stretch of downtime from a vision system that kept misidentifying empty spots on the shelf. Turned out the fluorescent lights above it were flickering at a frequency the camera couldn't handle. Threw a dimmer switch on the circuit and wired in some cheap LED strips instead. Never had another mispick. Sometimes the fix is dumber than you think, just gotta look at the whole room not just the robot.
