I used to think AI art was just a fun toy, but a comment on my portfolio changed my mind

I posted some of my graphic design work online last week, and someone replied, 'Cool, but how long until an AI does this for free?' I mean, I laughed it off at first. But then I looked at the new image generator from a big company, and it made a logo concept in about 30 seconds that would have taken me half a day. I've started learning how to use these tools as part of my process instead of ignoring them. Has anyone else had to pivot like this to stay relevant?

Honestly, that comment would have sent me into a full spiral. My first logo looked like a toddler drew it with their feet, so maybe the AI would have been an upgrade back then. But you're smart to start learning the tools, it's like trying to fight the tide if you don't. I still get a little scared my whole job just becomes typing in weird prompts all day.

Wait, they just said that to you on your own work? That's so rude.
