I used to think AI would only take the boring jobs, but my kid's homework changed my mind

My 10-year-old was stuck on a math problem last night, so I pulled up a free AI tutor app to help, and it explained the whole concept better than I ever could. It hit me that this thing could easily replace a huge chunk of private tutoring, a job I always thought was safe because it's 'human'. What other 'safe' jobs do you think are actually on the chopping block that we just don't see yet?

Yeah, that's a solid point. Used to think teaching was totally safe too. Honestly, seeing some of the AI design tools now has me worried for junior graphic designers. The tech can make decent logos and layouts in seconds. It's getting scary good at creative stuff, not just the boring tasks.

My friend's design intern got let go after their company bought an AI tool, kinda like what @christopherw34 said.

Ugh, that's rough for @claire872's friend's intern. The scary part is these tools are learning from existing work, so they're basically copying styles without real understanding. A junior designer's job was to learn by doing those basic tasks, and now that's gone. It feels like we're cutting off the first step of the career ladder.
