Just had a talk with my barber that made me relax a bit about AI
He was saying his dad used to worry about those self-checkout kiosks taking grocery jobs, but now he manages them. Made me realize a lot of these new tools still need people to fix them when they break. Anyone else have a conversation that kinda changed how you see this whole thing?

Yeah but those self-checkout kiosks still put a ton of cashiers out of work though.

That self-checkout thing actually worked out okay at the grocery store near me. They kept most of the cashiers but moved them to help people at the kiosks and bag items. So folks still have jobs, just doing different stuff now.

Ugh that's rough to see. @vera195 had a good point about them keeping people on though. Hate seeing folks lose jobs to machines.
