Overheard a warehouse foreman say he'd rather train a bot than train a new hire.

He said a robot never calls in sick and doesn't need a break. But what about the jobs that actually need a human touch like fixing problems on the fly? Has anyone else seen this split where we're trading people for machines just because it's cheaper short term?

Bet the bot can't fix a broken pallet jack with a paperclip though.

That phrase about fixing things with a paperclip reminds me of the time my neighbor tried to jumpstart his lawnmower with a coat hanger. He said it was a "temporary solution" that somehow lasted three summers before the whole thing finally gave out. Not sure a bot would have thought to try that, but then again, maybe it would have known better.

Wait, did your friend's coat hanger fix actually outlast the mower itself?
