That stat about trucking jobs finally clicked for me

I always figured AI would hit truckers first. Then I read a report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics that said only 3% of long haul trucking jobs are at high risk by 2030. It's the local delivery routes and warehouse sorting that's getting automated faster. Found it on a government site last week. Anyone else surprised by a stat that made you rethink which jobs are actually vulnerable?

Man, that stat really threw me too. I figured truckers would be the first to go, but then my buddy who drives for a regional beer distributor told me they just rolled out these little robot carts in their warehouse that sort cases by delivery route. Totally changed my mind about where the real risk is. Seems like all those middle steps, like loading and sorting at local hubs, are way easier for a machine to handle than navigating an 18-wheeler through a snowstorm in Montana. It's the boring, repetitive stuff in the back of a facility that's getting swapped out first, not the long haul, at least for now.

What kind of local delivery jobs are we talking, like UPS or food service?

Yeah exactly! My neighbor drives for ups and they're testing those robots in his hub.
