Vent: My wife pushed me to automate our pest control scheduling, I picked software over a live answering service, and now I answer more calls than ever
Six months ago I had to pick between a $400/month answering service or a $200/month booking bot for my pest control business here in Fresno, and everyone online swore the bot was the smart move. I went with the software because the demo looked slick, and it broke on day two when a lady called about wasps and the thing kept asking her to press 1 for a callback. The bot booked a termite inspection for 2am, lost two regulars who hated the texts, and I ended up doing more phone time than before. My wife still says I quit too early on it, but I switched back to a real person in January and my repeat customers came right back. Has anyone actually made one of these booking bots work for a small service business, or is it all just demo magic?
