Always thought thermal cameras were just extra gear, but after finding a faulty connection, I'm a convert.

Yeah totally, my buddy had this flickering light in his truck for months. Could not find it for the life of him. Borrowed a thermal cam on a whim and pointed it at the fuse panel. Spotted one connector running way hotter than the rest behind the dash, a problem he never would have seen. Fixed it in ten minutes after all that headache.

Oh wow, that's awesome! Thermal cams are such a game changer for hidden electrical problems. My cousin dealt with a nasty battery drain in his car for ages, and borrowing a thermal cam showed a hot connection behind the dash. We never would have spotted it without that heat view! It was driving him crazy trying to trace wires the old way. Finding that one hot spot let us fix it in no time, just like your buddy's story. Such a relief to solve those annoying gremlins!

So where do you even borrow a thermal cam from, like a tool library or something?

Man, my friend had the same deal with his boat's wiring. The bilge pump kept killing the battery, and he was ready to pull all the wiring out. We scanned the switch panel and found one stupid connector was super hot even with everything off. Turns out the terminal was half broken and just cooking itself.
