Bought a $230 used thermal camera, mostly regret it
Honestly, everyone hypes up thermal cameras for finding hot spots in bundles, but I spent $230 on a used FLIR from a buddy and it just sits in my toolbox. I thought it would speed up tracing shorts on the flightline, but the resolution is so low I still end up pulling the multimeter out. It did catch a bad relay once, but that took 20 minutes of fiddling with the settings, and my old method of feeling for heat with my hand got the same result in half the time. Has anyone else wasted cash on one of these, or am I just using it wrong?
