Can we talk about how we handle old circuit boards?
I think it's crazy that we just toss them out when they fail. We should be pushing for repair or recycling programs in every hangar. It's a waste and bad for the planet.

Ever seen those piles of dead laptops and phones at the dump? I have. It's a total waste. There's real gold and copper in there just getting buried. We gotta make it easier to break them down for parts instead of trashing the whole thing.

Actually pulling those materials out is way harder than it sounds. Modern gadgets are glued together and have tiny parts mixed together. Most recycling spots just shred everything and burn it to get a little metal. Even with the best will, getting clean copper or gold from a phone is a huge, dirty job. The real fix is making things easier to take apart from the start.

My buddy tried to salvage his old phone for parts last month. The thing was so glued together he just cracked the screen trying to get it open. He ended up tossing the whole mess in the e-waste bin, which kinda proves the point.

My friend's repair shop, like @the_ben said, is just piles of glued-shut junk now.
