DAE get told to just reset the fault codes and see if it comes back?
A retiring shop lead named Gus at our hangar in Burbank pulled me aside about 4 months ago and swore that half my intermittent squawk headaches would clear up if I just stopped chasing every nuisance code and let the system run a full self test first. I ignored him for weeks and burned two full shifts on a flap asymmetry light that turned out to be a loose cannon plug pin, then ran his self test trick on the next one and had it pinned in 20 minutes. Now I do the full test before I touch a thing. Does anyone else have a checklist habit that a senior tech passed down that you wish you had picked up sooner?
