Hot take: pin repair kits for Garmin 430 connectors are worth it

I spent two hours re-pinning a connector with an old screwdriver and a paperclip before a buddy handed me a real kit - took 4 minutes after that. Anyone else think the cheap way is a setup for failure, or am I just slow?

Snagged a cheap kit on Amazon after fighting pins for an hour and it's night and day difference... never going back to the jerry-rigged way.

Funny you mention that, I spent twenty minutes last week trying to get a pin out with pliers and a paperclip before giving up and ordering one of those kits too. Now I just pull out the tool drawer like I actually know what I'm doing.
