Realized my crimper was off by 0.2mm after 3 years of work
Last week I was redoing a connector on a King radio at the hangar in Burbank and noticed the pin kept slipping. Grabbed a mic and checked the crimp height, turns out my old Snap-On tool was worn down that tiny bit. Anyone else ever troubleshoot bad crimps with a multimeter before finding the real issue?

Wow, 0.2mm seems pretty tiny to actually matter that much.

Used to think the same until I actually tried printing parts with really tight tolerances. Had a project where two pieces needed to slide together but not rattle around, and that 0.2mm gap was the difference between a smooth fit and something that just flops loose. Then another time I was printing gears and realized if the teeth are off by even a hair they either jam up or skip. Small numbers like that really do add up fast once you get into functional stuff... changes your whole perspective on what's important.
