TIL the hard way about wire splices on a ramp in Phoenix

Was trouble-shooting a intermittent fault on a King Air last month and kept chasing a bad connector. Turns out a previous tech had used a butt splice without proper strain relief, and the vibration was doing it. Now I always wrap and support any splice within 6 inches of a mount point, anyone else run into hidden work like that?
