Used to think you could't trust used avionics components

I was always the guy who insisted on buying new circuit boards and transponders. Then last month my shop's budget got cut and I had to source a used KX-155 for a Cessna 172. Got it from a guy in Tucson who tests everything before shipping and includes the full history. That radio has been running solid for 8 weeks now with zero issues. Has anyone else had good luck with used avionics gear from a specific seller?

Used to think driving that far for a single radio was crazy until I did it myself for a Hallicrafters SX-42 a few years back. @lily57, sometimes the hunt itself is half the fun, even if it ends up being a bust. That drive through the desert with the windows down and old AM stations fading in and out was actually worth it, radio or no radio. Came home with the set and it had a few issues, but fixing it up turned into a whole project I enjoyed. So I get it, even if it does sound a bit much from the outside.

Man that's a hike for one thing. Hope it was worth the drive.
