Was told to replace all wiring on a 1967 Piper Comanche instead of splicing, and I fought it for two years but the guy was right.

After chasing intermittent radio failures for six months and spending $800 on troubleshooting, I finally ripped out all the old fabric-covered wiring like that old timer at Sun 'n Fun told me to do back in 2021, and the problem vanished completely, so has anyone else wasted money trying to patch up ancient wiring?

Nah, $800 sounds cheap compared to two years of head scratching.
