Wiring harness failure on a King Air 90 at KAPA last week totally changed how I check chafing points

Funny enough, I used to blow off chafing checks on my own stuff. Figured it was overkill. But seeing a King Air grounded over a wire rub changed my mind pretty quick.

Three King Airs in my hangar and I still skip half the chafing checks unless I'm bored, @price.ben. Is it really that common or just one bad luck story making the rounds?

Think about the vibration harmonics in a King Air though. Different power settings and airspeeds can shift where a wire bundle actually rubs, making it rub in spots you wouldn't catch on a static check. So even if you're thorough on the ground, you might still miss the real problem area until it's too late lol.
