Heard a vendor say 'white labeling is dead' at a conference last week
I was at the Chicago B2B expo and overheard a SaaS guy telling his partner that white labeling is done because everyone wants brand recognition now. But I just signed a $12k deal with a client who specifically asked for white label support. Is it actually fading out or is it still useful for certain niches? Would love to hear what others are seeing.

Honestly, that vendor might be onto something. Most clients I run into at these events want that shiny brandable solution, not someone else's logo on it. White labeling can make you look like a middleman instead of an expert, which kills trust fast. Plus, with all these AI tools now, companies can build their own branded versions cheap, so the whole resale angle is getting squeezed out.

@"shiny brandable solution" lol, I get that but is it really that deep? Most clients I deal with just want something that works, they don't care if it's white labeled or not. @sean_green44 I've seen plenty of small shops slap a logo on a decent tool and charge double, clients love it because it feels custom. The whole "trust" thing feels like a stretch when you're just selling software, not brain surgery. Plus half the people at these events barely know what AI even does, they ain't building jack.

wait but if companies can build their own branded versions cheap now, why are clients like yours still paying 12k for white label instead of just building it themselves?
