Hot take: cold emailing is dead for B2B and warm intros are the only thing that works anymore

I had a sales guy in Chicago tell me last month he gets a 0.2% reply rate on cold emails but a 40% close rate on referrals, and I have to wonder if we're all just wasting money on list scraping tools.

Changed my mind too" because of the numbers, but here's the thing nobody's bringing up - those numbers don't account for the tax hit if you sell. I was looking at mine and realized if I cashed out now, I'd lose like 20-25% to taxes, which completely changes the whole calculation. Makes the "look at the gains" argument a lot weaker when you factor in what you actually walk away with.
