Overheard a sales guy at a coffee shop say 'we just send the same deck to everyone'
That's why our last three vendor pitches felt like a copy-paste job. How do you push for a custom solution without sounding like a pain?

Maybe ask for a deck that doesn't put me to sleep this time. I'm already fighting for attention as it is!

Told them to skip the first 15 slides. Worked way better.

Tell them you need to see how their stuff fixes your exact problem. I got a deck last month that talked about "synergy" for ten slides but never mentioned our old software we told them about. Made me feel like a number, not a client. Ask for a walk-through of just the parts that matter to your team. If they can't do that, they probably don't know their product well enough to help.
