Showerthought: my 4 day trip in the Wind River Range went so well it kind of ruined me for other routes
Did the Cirque of the Towers loop out of Big Sandy last month and everything clicked for once. Weather held at 65 and sunny, no bugs, river crossings were knee deep, and I found a flat campsite at Lonesome Lake with a view of Pingora. My pack weighed 28 lbs and I actually ate all my food for once instead of hauling 2 extra dinners home. Now every other route I look at feels like a compromise and I keep comparing everything to those 38 miles. Has anyone else had a trip that set the bar so high you can't enjoy normal routes after?
