Appreciation post: the $180 cordless framing nailer that saved my fence build
Three summers ago I built a 60 foot privacy fence in my backyard in Boise and rented a pneumatic nailer plus compressor for the job. That rental ran me about $180 total and it was the best money I spent on the whole project, because hand nailing 400 pickets would have wrecked my shoulder and probably my marriage. The compressor kicked on every few minutes and scared my dog half to death, but I still finished the whole run in two weekends. My neighbor borrowed the same rental setup for his shed and blew out a $40 regulator hose on day one, so I guess it is hit or miss. What rental tool actually earned its keep on your build, and which one burned you?
