The plank stool saga, my old saw horses vs. real benches

Used to stack cinder blocks and 2x4s for every work surface, took 3 weekends last summer to get tired of it. This spring I finally built proper saw horses and a workbench for $120 in lumber, everything is level now. Anyone else spend way too long using janky setups before just building the right thing?
