Can we talk about how everyone misquotes The Room's line?
I was at a party last Saturday and three separate people said 'You are tearing me apart, Lisa' with the wrong emphasis, putting the stress on 'tearing' instead of 'apart,' and it completely changes the weird emotional punch. I've watched that movie maybe 12 times since it hit streaming and the real delivery is so flat and desperate that it lands like a bad community theater audition, which is exactly why it works. Have any of you noticed other famous bad movie lines getting mangled by fans, or is this just my pet peeve?
