Finally finished watching The Room with a full crowd at a midnight screening

I've seen The Room maybe a dozen times alone at home, but last Saturday I went to the Alamo Drafthouse in Austin for their midnight showing. I expected some laughs, but the whole theater was screaming lines at the screen and throwing plastic spoons. I learned that the experience is completely different when you're with 200 people losing their minds over Tommy Wiseau's accent. Has anyone else had a bad movie totally transform when you watched it with a rowdy audience?

and here's the thing nobody talks about - those midnight screenings actually ruin regular movies for you. I saw The Room twice in theaters and now I can't watch any drama without wanting the audience to yell at the screen. It's like a whole new way to experience film where the movie itself is almost secondary to the crowd energy. My buddy dragged me to see a serious art house flick last week and I caught myself waiting for someone to throw a spoon, which is messed up but that's what happens when you get addicted to chaos.

The midnight Rocky Horror screenings broke my brain the same way. @evahenderson you hit on something real with that chaos addiction. I went to a normal movie last month and when the big dramatic moment happened I just sat there waiting for someone to crack a joke. Nothing. Dead silence. Felt wrong honestly.
