Hot take: spending $60 on a used VHS player to watch bad movies was the smartest or dumbest thing I did this year
I dropped $60 at a flea market in Columbus on a used VHS player so I could watch old so-bad-they're-good flicks on tape instead of streaming, and it looked great until the tracking went bad halfway through a marathon last Saturday. Half of me thinks the grain and the wobbly sound actually make bad movies funnier, while the other half thinks I just paid 60 bucks to fight a machine that eats tapes. Is hunting down physical copies part of the fun for you, or does streaming win every time?
