Shoutout to the $8 DVD of 'The Room' I bought at a gas station
Pulled into a Shell station off I-80 last month and saw this beat up copy of The Room sitting in a discount bin. Paid $8 for it thinking it'd be a laugh. Ended up watching it three times in one weekend, it's an absolute masterpiece of garbage cinema. Has anyone else found a terrible movie in a weird place like that?

Tbh that's a steal for The Room. I found a copy of Troll 2 at a thrift store in a laundry basket for like five bucks and it's still one of my favorite bad movie nights.
Ngl the whole 'so bad it's good' thing really hits different when you randomly stumble on it like that.

Honestly that says a lot about how we curate our own entertainment these days, doesn't it? I find the best stuff is always the stuff you trip over by accident not the stuff recommended by algorithms. @allen.iris I get where you're coming from about The Room being rough, but there's a weird charm to finding a physical copy in a gas station bin that Tubi just can't replicate. Found a VHS of 'Samurai Cop' at a yard sale last summer and watching it on a crusty old TV felt way more special than streaming it.

Last I checked that movie has a 3.6 on IMDb and there's a reason for that. I watched ten minutes of it at a Super 8 motel in Ohio and had to turn it off because the acting was so bad it made me physically uncomfortable. You can find way better bad movies for free on Tubi like Miami Connection or The Incredible 2-Headed Transplant that won't make you feel like you wasted eight bucks.
