TIL watching 'The Room' at a midnight screening in Austin changed how I watch bad movies
I used to just sit at home and cringe through terrible movies alone. Then a buddy dragged me to the Alamo Drafthouse for a midnight showing of The Room back in 2019. Seeing everyone throw spoons and yell at the screen completely flipped my opinion. Now I only watch bad movies in a crowd. Has anyone else had a theater experience that changed how you appreciate this stuff?

The first time I went, I thought everyone was just making fun of how bad it was. But after a few more screenings, I realized the crowd actually makes it better - you're not laughing at the movie, you're all in on the joke together.
