Took me three watches of The Room to realize I was taking it way too seriously
I was trying to follow the plot for the first two watches and then my buddy pointed out that every single scene contradicts the last one and I finally just laughed at how nothing makes sense.

It's actually a documentary about how nobody can agree on what reality even is.

Actually it's not quite that every scene contradicts the last one, more like the plot just spins its wheels for two hours and then crashes into an ending that Tommy Wiseau literally copied from his own student film. The "no sex" line with the closed umbrella is still one of the funniest things ever committed to film though.

Totally feel you on this one. I sat through it with a friend who kept apologizing for picking the movie, and around the hour mark we both just started laughing at how nothing was really happening but nothing made sense either. The closed umbrella bit is pure gold though, I almost choked on my soda when he just stood there holding it up like that was a normal thing to do. Have you seen the making of stuff where they talk about how many takes that scene needed?
