Watched 'The Room' for the first time last night and my face still hurts from laughing

It was a baffling experience, but I can't wait to see it again with friends. What's a movie that's so bad it becomes a genuinely fun group event?

That movie is the king of bad movie nights. Someone told me the director thought he was making a real drama, which makes it even funnier. It's a perfect pick for a group because you can all yell at the screen together.

You know what, you totally got me. I used to think that movie was just boring and stupid, not even the good kind of bad. But after reading your post and patricia262 mentioning that six million dollar budget and the weird flower shop scenes, it clicked for me. Like yeah, it's the perfect bad movie because the director was dead serious the whole time, and that makes every single awkward line delivery feel like a gift. I guess I was looking at it wrong before, trying to take it even a little seriously. Now I can totally see myself grabbing some friends and just roasting it from start to finish. It's a whole different experience when you know the guy behind it thought he was making the next big drama.

The director spent six million dollars on that movie, which is the real punchline. @karenb97 is right about him thinking it was serious, which explains the endless, weird flower shop scenes. For a group, I'd nominate "Birdemic." The plastic birds on strings and the sudden, ten minute long PowerPoint about climate change had my whole apartment screaming. It's a special kind of bad that needs witnesses.
