Bought a fancy digital scale that turned out to be a total waste
Spent $60 on a super precise one with a million settings, but my old $15 mechanical scale from the restaurant supply store is way faster and just as accurate for flour. Anyone have a good digital one they actually like?

My buddy tried that digital scale thing a few years back. He got one of those fancy ones with all the buttons and modes, thought it would be a game changer for his baking. First time he tried to weigh out some dough ingredients, the thing kept jumping around by like 10 grams. He spent an hour messing with it, moving it to different spots on the counter, even put a level on top to make sure the surface was dead flat. Still couldn't get it to hold still. He ended up just buying a cheap mechanical one from the grocery store and it's been fine ever since. Sometimes the simplest stuff just works better, you know?

Check the calibration on that digital scale. A lot of them need to be reset or placed on a perfectly flat surface to work right. Did yours come with a calibration weight?

Yeah, and if it didn't come with a weight, a sealed bag of flour or sugar can work in a pinch for a quick check.
