My chocolate chip cookies came out flat as pancakes yesterday

I followed my usual recipe but used melted butter instead of softened. The dough was super runny and spread into one big sheet on the pan. I learned that butter temperature really does matter for shape. Has anyone else had this happen and found a good fix for dough that's too soft?

My last batch of cookies taught me the same lesson about melted butter.

Melted butter makes them spread into one giant cookie sometimes.
