That $18 bench scraper was worth every penny for my sticky dough problems
I used to fight with wet doughs for years, always adding flour and ending up with tough bread. Finally dropped $18 on a metal bench scraper from a kitchen supply store. The angled blade lets me cut and lift dough clean without tearing it. Also works great for cleaning flour off my counter between batches. My sandwich loaves have way better crumb structure now because I'm not overworking the dough. Anyone else find one tool that fixed a recurring bake fail?

Hang on, an $18 tool is the difference between tough bread and good bread? I've been using a dollar store plastic dough scraper for years and my sandwich loaves come out fine. Maybe your technique was the problem, not the tool. Feels like a lot of hype over a metal rectangle.

Picked up a metal one on sale and it made way more difference than I expected for bench work.
