Tried baking bread in my cast iron skillet like my grandma did in the 70s, got a hockey puck instead
I found my grandma's old recipe card from 1974 and decided to try her skillet bread method instead of using my regular loaf pan last Saturday. The bottom burned black in 20 minutes while the middle stayed raw dough, and my smoke alarm went off twice before I gave up. Did anyone else's grandma actually make this work, or was she just hiding her failures too?
